ST's Intro:
The Daily Dish and Warrior Beat have joint custody of Annoddah Dave. When the discussion is world topics or food, Annoddah Dave belongs to Cat's blog. When the it comes to UH football or food, we have visitation rights.
Annoddah Dave is a humble family man, loyal UH fan and accurate historian. His bio reminds us why "pink slip" used to be a good term.
Before he sneaks off to Cat's blog, please meet Annoddah Dave. You will be tested later.

Name: Annoddah Dave
Pseudonym: Annoddah Dave
Tsaiko Blog Name: Annoddah Dave
Daily Dish Blog Name: Annoddah Dave
Why?: first time I blogged under the name “Dave” another Dave blogged on the same blog using that name. So, I changed mine to “Annoddah Dave”, get it?!

Born: Kaka’ako, in a 2 story duplex that had a dirt floor and a leaky roof. As kids we enjoined the rain as Mom put pots and pans all over the bedrooms to catch the water. A symphony of plinks and plunks to lull us to sleep. To this day, I sleep best when it is raining.

School: Product of the State of Hawaii, DOE. I stay grad fum Kaimuki High! Matriculated at UH-Manoa, graduated finally after 3 years on academic probation. Too much fun with the Neighbor Island girls. Man, could they party!

Work: Started work at 15 at the canneries (Libby’s & Dole), did that for 3 summers. Enlisted in the Army Reserve at 17. Went to basic training after graduation. Did not want to get drafted!
Worked for 38 years for the Army as a civilian. Did office work. Not very impressive stuff, just did what I was told. Retired, when I realized they were not going to ask me to the prom.
Still working because I need to pay the mortgage on my thrice re-financed house. Otherwise, my address will be the City & County Parks and Recreation Department. Job involves driving a forklift (which I learned while at the cannery), selling power tools and equipment (which I learned working part time at JC Penney and working with my contractor friend on weekends), writing correspondence (which I learned from my inspirational sophomore literature instructor at UH, doing marketing (which I learned from taking a marketing class and through the literature class; I do some of the creative for the TV ads for the store), presentation and analytical development (which I learned doing office work for the Army…I do Powerpoint and Word), and try to listen before talking (something I learned from my Mom and Dr. Steven Covey).

UH Sports: Enjoyed going to all the games they lost and won some at the old Termite Palace while attending UH. The cost was the best..free with student tuition receipt. UH did not have ID cards in those days so you had to show your pink receipt at the stadium gate. I later attended games using my sisters’ receipts. The stadium guys never checked to see that my name was Mary or Sue (from the old R&R song “What’s your Name?”) After my sisters graduated, I needed to get better seats (at the old stadium the student section was behind the 3rd base dugout side (mauka) between the 20 yard lines so the view was great! I joined Koa Anuenue and been a member since about mid ’70s except for the 3 years I lived in Europe. Rejoined when I got back to live here permanently. What’s coincidental is that I am still on the mauka side of the stadium watching UH Football. Also, am season ticket holder for Basketball.

Best Memories of UH Football: watching the likes of Skippy Dyer, Bill Massey, Larry Sherrer, Larry Cole, Levi Stanley, Niko & Al Noga, Rick Blangiardi, Rhinehold Stuprich (win over BYU w/o a touchdown), Garrett Gabriel & the two amazing wins over BYU, Jeris White, the 92 Holiday Bowl win, Craig Stuzmann’s point after touchdown (didn’t go through the goal posts but landed in the stands, and more to come.

Worst Memories of UH Football: Firing of Bob Wagner, the infamous last season of Fred Von Appen (I went to all the home games for that season!), the fight on the field after the Hawaii bowl win, this season’s football schedule.

Personal: Spouse unit (that is why I am still working) + 2 kids in high school (that is why I am still working) + 2 dogs (that is why I’m up early every day).

Hobbies: Poop buddy for 2 dogs, sleeping (drives spouse unit nuts because I never do anything around the house)

Other interests: Classical music, Classical R&R, trivia, live theater, European food, Asian food, wine (used to collect Bourdeaux wines), books on leadership and management, Tsai & Cat’s blog

What I am Thankful for: a Mom who taught me values, a Dad who taught me mechanical stuff, 3 eclectic sisters who have similar and varied interests, family that makes me want to live longer, doctors who are helping me to live longer (heart and cancer), friends who are true, growing up and living in Hawai‘i.
